Right now my motherboard doesn't support my old ass version of Windows XP 2002! I have called all over the city and no where has Windows 7, only Windows 8. I expressed my discontent, to which they replied "I am sorry you feel that way."

My mobo is a GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H and an Intel Z77. I called and they told me I needed to follow this set of instructions http://www.howtohaven.com/system/slipstream-xp-service-pack-3.shtml

When I get to step 6, I need to use to command prompt to integrate some files. I am using a MAC right now to do this process, and do not how the following line translates to UNIX

C:\XPSP3.EXE /integrate:C:\XPSETUP

Can anyone help me? I am trying to install XP and when my setup gets to STARTING WINDOWS from the Blue windows setup screen, it goes to the BLUE Screen of DEATH! Therefore, I think doing this might fix it. Would love some help!

Thanks

That's not a Windows installation image, it's only Service Pack 3. Just use a friend's Windows machine to make your slipstreamed image, that's the ONLY way to do it.

I am trying to follow the instructions to the link because my new hardware doesn't recognize my original windows XP edition. Therefore, I need to get a bootable copy of Windows XP I can use my CD key on. I believe this Slipstreaming process was a method of making a windows SP 3 boot disk. However, I am not positive...

Is the instructions to this.... http://www.howtohaven.com/system/slipstream-xp-service-pack-3.shtml

essentially this, made available free by windows? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25129

Yeah, unfortunately I can't do that. I don't have the option since I am on a Mac.

Is the link I posted to the Windows SP 3 ISO the exact same thing as the slipstreamed file creates? I believe it is... That's what I am hoping at least

"Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system. This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system.
This file is a CD image file for users who wish to create an update CD for Windows XP Service Pack 3, for example for offline installation by administrators. "
