[SOLVED] CONFUSED ABOUT HOW TO ADD A MONITOR TO A PC

Hi, I'm a bit confused. On a monitor there is an HDMI port. Which is a HDMI output port, right? So if a gpu has a HDMI out and a monitor has an output how does it connect. Because wouldn't the monitor need to be an input to connect.

a monitor would not have a HDMI output, the monitor is the display, the end point of the data. the monitor does not have the equipment to generate a signal to output
any ports except AUDIO on a display or TV monitor are inputs. AUDIO is the only output I have ever seen on a monitor or display and that is because many do not have speakers.

So if a monitor has an 'HDMI' port and not an 'HDMI-IN' port. Does that still mean its an input port?

yes on a monitor. the only outputs on a display or monitor are audio, HDMI has audio in and the audio out passes that signal to the speakers. the HDMI, DVI, VGA ports on a display/monitor are inputs.
