Confused About Motherboard/CPU Compatibility

I currently am looking to upgrade my CPU, as I have a AMD Athlon II X4 635. My motherboard is a ASUSTeK Computer INC. M4A88TD-M (AM3), and I am looking on the internet for CPU's that are compatible with this motherboard, but could only find older generations of CPU's. Can someone tell me if my motherboard could provide compatibility with any newer generation AMD CPU's.

Thank you,

Michael

This is my PC, if this helps:

Do you think any of these CPU's will be worth it as an upgrade to my PC. Like will it be a difference compared to my current CPU. And if so, which one? Thank you.
