I am currently looking to get a completely new system and am extremely inexperienced when it comes to computer building. I have picked out all of my parts except for my case. I've been confused as to if I need a specific case to fit the sizes of my parts, or if a certain type of case is universal. The parts I am looking at are listed below, if there is any reasons that these wouldn't work together let me know please.
Radeon R9 390 Graphics Card
Corsair CX750M Power Supply
FX-8350 Processor
NH-U12S Fan
Gigabyte Z97X-UD7 Mother Board
8GB of RAM
2 TB HDD (Haven't decided brand yet)

Again I am extremely inexperienced, and any advice you could give would be very much appreciated.

Solution
The motherboard you listed is not compatible with the processor you listed.

I'd suggest using pcpartpicker.com to plan a build, it will inform you of compatibility issues.

I'm not familiar with AMD CPUs so won't make a recommendation.

The PCpart picker app suggeseted above: http://pcpartpicker.com

Basically you picked an intel mobo for an amd cpu. they are not reverse compatible.

To get you started on picking a case, you would be better off settleing down on your components first, but as a rule of thumb looks like you are shooting for quite decent, meaning you would probably want to go for mid tower and an ATX (standard size) motherboard. More info on this here:
