Confused about which hard disk brand to choose ??

I have selected two models of western digital and seagate in the same price range ... Basically , I am gonna buy a second hand hard disk within warranty period ... My question is whose warranty is a bit more lenient ?? Because I wouldnot know what the hard disk has gone through ... And on buying the hard disk , I am gonna take it to the service center and ask for a replacement ... So , in this case which would be a better bet ??

you will bring it to the service center when it breaks?
well, before, from where i live seagate has a nice service, we only have to bring it to a center shop, then if it is still under warranty they will ship it to SG (or taiwan not sure) for free. They would even ship it to your house if i remember correctly.

but then again, i don't buy 2nd hand hdd

@tea urchin , I'll buy sata3 ... My point is that WD has a lot of terms on their warranty site but Seagate has fewer ... So , does that make Seagate more lenient ?? Or its nothing like that ?? If at all I buy a used hdd , I'll check a few things like any sector errors , any scratches or so and ofcourse if it's within warranty ...
