Hi guys, I hope you all are well!

So, I have been planning to buy an OLED monitor for a while now, and I have stumbled upon the MSI MPG 341CQPX, which is a QD-OLED monitor. Now that I have finalized everything, I have seen a divide among people that say that OLEDs aren't ideal for editing and that a burn-in is very likely possible due to the Photoshop panels being static for many hours.

Now I do want to point out that I'm a graphic designer, so usually I have 3 to 4 hours of editing work daily, but if there is an event going on, that can extend to 10 to 12 hours. For example, a football World Cup will go on for weeks, so I'd have to work 10 to 12 hours on alternate days, but that is something that happens occasionally.

Now, given all the circumstances and to mention that QD-OLED monitors aren't that prone to burn-in, should I invest in this monitor?

Any response is highly appreciated

Most OLED monitors are equipped with a feature called pixel shift where the static elements in the picture are shifted a few pixels left, right, up, down to avoid any burn in. You could download and read the manual for any monitor you are considering to see if it mentions this feature and confirm if there is an option in it's menus to turn it on.

Yeah, I have read about this feature and the OLED Care and heard that even that is not enough.

The place where I live, it's double the MSRP, and I really want to experience this one.

I'm fine if the burn in comes after 3 or 4 years but the thing that puts me off is that people have reported burn in just few months of use

rtings.com reviews this monitor very favorably:

Burn in comes from having the same static image on the screen for a long time.
This can be alleviated some by using screen savers and changing desktop images.
Yes, this monitor has QD-OLED and a very low burn-in rate.

But coming back to the static image thing, the issue is that i have to work on photoshop although it's a dark grey panel, and people are still reluctant to use it as the screen stays static but obviously i keep switching tabs between google and photoshop while i design

I dont even know how the burn in happens and how to prevent it lol

I think the major issue with regards to editing on OLED monitors is that they’re not that colour accurate unless you’re at the reference grade whereas LED monitors, especially Mini LEDs are and have good enough contrast.
