Confused with DVI/Vga on computer

This is the video card I have in my computer that was just put together. I noticed theres only dvi ports on the video card.I was plugging in a vga to my mother board to my monitor and no signal was being shown. Here is the mobo

Now what I don't understand is if I can't use vga because the video card only has dvi ports. I was connecting the vga port on the mobo to the vga on the monitor but I am getting nothing. Do I have to use DVI from the video card to the monitor?

Nevermind. Turns out I was completely daft and forgot to use the adapter from the video card so it can actually connect. Installing windows now 😀 Thanks
