Hi there, I currently own a HP Pavillion Power 850-015na, on this I like to play games such as "PUBG" and "Apex Legends". I am looking to upgrade the memory of this system for increased performance, after a cursory glance at the HP website I saw that it had said that you can only install 16 gb of ram (2 x 8gb) Link-https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05547269. However after consulting Crucials memory test, the test said that there was a maximum memory of 32gb (presumably 16x2). It came out like such
memory

Slots: 2 (2 banks of 1)

Maximum Memory: 32GB

*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Standard Memory: 8GB removable

Also keeping this 16x1 stick available as an option to upgrade memory: https://uk.crucial.com/ProductDispl...externalPartNumber=CT10865175&catalogId=10153.

Therefore I am unsure as to whether my pc's slots can support 16gb or 8gb per slot, if it can support 16gb I will probably upgrade to that as to leave space for more upgradability in the future.

Thank you for your help,

From the link you provided:
"Supports 4 GB and 8 GB UDIMMs " So your 16GB module is not supported

"Supports up to 16 GB (unbuffered) on 64-bit computers " So 16 GB is the maximum supported.

I don't know for sure but I suspect that the sockets do not have enough address lines to support more DRAM.
