How can the nvidia GTX 600 series be better than the 750 and so on... please explain like the ranking

The second number in the series is the most important for raw performance. A 750 will be more powerful than a 650, but only slightly. The "7" means its a newer series, with improvements, but the series is a poor way to judge RAW performance. A 650 for example will be faster than a 730. So, you have to look at the second number for relative power or performance within that series of card, keeping in mind that the higher series numbers mean a more modern card.

The best, and only fool proof way to know a cards real potential is to check benchmarks of the card running the games you plan to play on sites like this.

the series are not continuous ex. after gtx 690 it is not gtx 720

eah series is differentiated by a better architecture/manufacturing process/improvement

ex- 7xx - kepler 9xx- maxwell(architecture)

gt 720 is the wakest card while the gtx 780ti is the strongest card in the series

likewise gt 620 is the weakest while gtx 690 is the strongest

usuall the performance improvement is like this

gtx 9(n-1)0=gtx 7👎0 where n=1-8

ex - gtx 970 is as powerful as the gtx 780

NOT- this is not official but just general

Except the 7xx series is topped by the Titan, Titan Black, and Titan Z XP

I know; I don't know about you, but I remember staring at the card names for so long when the titan came out - all I could think was "where's the number?" XP

Can't spell overkill without TITAN (I'm sure 10TFLOPS of computing power can figure out a situation in which that's true 😛) - jokes on me, though - went with a titan z over the r9 295x2 because I didn't want to deal with driver BS.... Now my life is driver BS (and crisis in 4k on ultra... but so much bs)

Well, I wanted to go with the i7-5930k (12 logical processors on an Intel? Why not!), which is socket type 2011-3 - it's impossible to find any boards that utilize anything but DDR4 😛

of offense sir but that is a wayyyyyyy overkill. and anyway you could have waited till skylake right?by that time at least ddr4 would have matured a bit

It's looking like there won't be an unlocked 's' chip until end of 2015 or even early 2016. didn't want to wait.
