there's a village called Bethesda not far from where I live in Wales and I
notice a lot of the locals have names that sound Welsh, thing like Llanos
and Llethri (I'm sure these are waterfalss in the Neath Valley). Any idea if
there's a Welsh connection to the software company?

Not sure about a Welsh connection, but their office is in Rockville,
Maryland, USA, which is close to Bethesda, MD. I think that's got
more to do with the name than the village in Wales.

Judging by many names in the US, the 'Bethesda MD' is named after the same
place in Wales.... the UK (and other countries) are full of places that
share the same name as places in the US (and have had the name before the US
even existed in it's current form!)

Oh, I figured that was was a given. But I also figured that since the
company's based in the US, there'd be a bigger Maryland connection
than a Welsh one...

I'm not being a smart ass here, I'm just curious if there is anyplace
in Europe that was renamed after an American city/town?

Example: Does Brussels have a Topeka?

Actually, they most likely both ripped off the name from the
"The pool of Bethesda". A spring fed pool with healing properties
from Christian mythos.
