conncting computer to HD TV

I am using I5 processor with inbuilt graphic card.I am trying to connect my computer to TV using HDMI but I am getting a very poor quality picture.can you guys please help me. I am not sure whether I need a graphic card or do i have to make any other changes ? Thanks in advance.

There are many i5 processors but most of them have very poor IGPU. Almost any dedicated graphic card is better.
