I have a free building wifi at my apt. I would like to use the wireless router I have to have LAN in my apt and connect to building wifi. Does anyone know how to do this or if it is possible. I have a NetGear WGR614 v6 wireless router. I also have Linksys wireless Ethernet Bridge and a Linksys Wireless G access point WAP54G if I need them. thanks for your help

The way to do this is by using a wireless bridge connected to your router. A bridge basically receives the wireless signal and outputs it to a wired Ethernet port. You would then take the output of the bridge an plug it into the lan port of your router. You may be able to use the wan port but not certain in your case. Try the lan port first. Since you want a home network you will use the DHCP server in the router to assign ip addresses to your devices. In this case you want the to use the router almost in an access point mode in not in router mode. Having never done what you want you may need to try both wan and lan ports to see how it goes.

Regarding the bridge itself Id suggest you use a repeater in bridge mode. Basically a...

Regarding the bridge itself Id suggest you use a repeater in bridge mode. Basically a repeater locks on to the wifi signal and can repeater it as well as output to Ethernet ports. A solid and inexpensive repeater is the NETGEAR RPT2000. I have been using one for a few years in bridge mode. Works very well.

What you have is an interesting situation. Let me know how it goes but you will get this to work.
