Connect iMac to external display

Hi everyone I use a iMac late 2013 for work and was wondering what's the best way if possible to connect it to my monitor Predator x34.

x34 has HDMI and DisplayPort, iMac has thunderbolt ports although i'm not sure what version of thunderbolt.

My research got me to this cable but I don't think my iMac has thunderbolt 3.

DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable.

If the iMac doesn't have a Thunderbolt 2 port you'll likely only get 60 Hz though.
