ThermalTake TR2 750W ATX has 2 PCI-E outlets - both used on new GTX660 Ti card. I want to also connect my old GTX560 Ti card. MSI GD/80 has 3 PCI-E slots so the mobo will accept the card. but do I use adapter connectors to connect to the PCI-E power on the video card?

Solution
There should be two hardwired cables each with a PCI Express supplementary power connector. One hardwired cable will have a 6-pin PCI-E connector and the other hardwired cable will have a (6+2)-pin PCI-E connector.

The two cable connectors on the left in this picture of the fixed/hardwired cables are the PCI-E cables you're looking for:

You have a "750W" PSU and it has only two connectors on it? Interesting...

Yes, you'd have to use adapters.

Edit: Wait, GTX560TI? Doesn't that need two 6pin plugs? Doing this might be a bad idea. Doesn't seem like your PSU is setup to handle a lot of 12V devices and you might overload it. Look up your TR2 750W and see how good it is.

Was there ever a Thermaltake TR2 750W PSU? Do you have the exact model number?

I know there is a couple of discontinued TR2 RX 750W models and they are horrible PSUs because they can't even deliver over 80% of the wattage specified on their label before they generate ripple levels that are out of spec. Both models came with four PCI Express supplementary power connectors.

High ripple levels will gradually kill the electrolytic capacitors on your motherboard, graphics cards, and other devices in your system causing them to prematurely fail.

When you were using it with one graphics card your total system power draw was well under 80% of the PSU's total labeled capacity so you were safe.

The full model of the PSU from the order is:
Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W Bronze W0382RU ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

It has 6 modular outlets - TWO of which were marked PCI-E and are connected to the GTX660 Ti card

3 of the remaining four non-PCI-E outlets are empty and the question is can I connect two PCI-E connectors on my old GTX560 Ti and if so - How?

Thanks for the responses guys
Tan

it's an I5 2500k cpu btw - in case the contributes to the issue

Correct! And thank you! (I tucked away unused cables and forgot about them - that's my story and I'm sticking to it)
