Connect to default gateway via telnet

Good morning,

I am trying to connect via telnet to the default gateway from cmd but i am failing.
The message that appears:

Could not open connection to host, on port 23: Connect failed

The first thing that comes to my mind is that my provider is blocking me but when I contacted with them the answer was negative though but they did not seem to understand exactly ...

Simply default gateway doesn't have telnet service on it. Why would it?

I am following a guide (I could post the steps if that would help), trying to avoid some network errors appearing in my screen.

If there is no telnet service, then you don't connect to it via telnet.

It doesn't seem like you're understanding, what you're doing.

If you get this error, then there is no service or firewall has blocked access

Why don't you try to explain, what you're trying to accomplish?

Your ISP may have flashed custom firmware which locks out SSH and Telnet

If they have locked you out of SSH and Telnet, I would hazard a guess you stand zero chance of flashing firmware and if you did the router may no longer work as intended!!

What service do you get from ISP adsl? vdsl? etc etc

Just solved my main problem.. I replaced my router with a tp.link one and everything is perfect now tho..
Only my download is a little messy but I hope my isp will fix that..
