I'm trying to connect my desktop to the internet by connecting it to my laptop (that's connected to the internet) using a LAN Cable. Not sure if it's a crossover.
Desktop motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z97MX Gaming 5, Windows 8
Laptop Acer 4755G, Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1.
I tried bridging connections on my laptop (the wireless network and the LAN network) but it won't work. The desktop says there's no internet connection. Bridging is successful though.
I also tried sharing my internet (Adapter Settings -> Properties -> Sharing), but it won't work either.
I'm not sure where I went wrong. What should I do to successfully connect my desktop to the internet through my laptop? Thanks
