https://dcables-net.s3.amazonaws.com/productimages/usb/usb013_combined_200x200.jpg. The adapter is for an usb pc mouse. On my computers it does not work. Why?
Can you connect an usb pc mouse to ps2 on a mainboard? Can you make an usb keyboard work on ps2?
Thank you.

Solution
The adapter does not add PS/2 capability to a USB mouse. Devices also need the PS/2 electronics inside to work with a simple USB pin-adapter. That's why Microsoft Mice that work on PS/2 say USB and PS/2 on them. Logitech does not label theirs but some will work on PS/2 like MX518 and others won't, like their iFeel force-feedback mouse. Keyboards are the same way and most USB keyboards will not work through a PS/2 adapter.
The mainboard is turned off when the pc mouse is connected to the mainboard.
Maybe it is because it is a linux system.
I tested a ps2 mouse and ps2 keyboard on the computer.
Both worked.
