connect wan port from lan port on same router.

Hi. In the middle of the house is where are modem is. Living room and bedroom is in each end of the house. I have one ethernet cable to living room and one to bedroom.

I want to have to accesspoint, one on bedroom and a wireless router(asus rt-ac66) in living room. So now the question is. Can i connect the modem to a switch,and the cable to living room to the switch, connect to a Lan port 1 on router in living room, and then from Lan port 2 to wan port on that router?

Unless your modem is a router it will not work. The modem will in most cases only give you 1 ip address so you can only have 1 device connected to it.

The path must go modem--router----switch----multiple AP.
