Connect Xbox 360 Controller to Pc

It is Possible to Connect an Xbox 360 Control to a Pc with a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 3.0? i have tried every options but there might be something im missing.

You need to purchase an xbox 360 wireless receiver. The official MS ones are preferable, though they will cost more. The generic ones are iffy, but there are some on eBay that give specific instructions that if followed correctly, will work fine. I have purchased 2 MS ones, and one generic one.
