connected? bios won't update windows defender going crazy possible electrical damage

I have a new build and windows defender is killing the loading of Dorico and Kontakt within it and I don't know why. It is the always aware function that even if you turn off will turn itself back off in a bit of time. I excluded my drives but it was that always looking feature. It holds it and holds it as it looks at it. It will also do it with just Kontakt alone. These are notation and sample loading programs. Keeps the programs at .3 or 0 percent for forever.
My Bios will not update on my motherboard but boots up fine. Will save fine. Will not accept the update from file or internet. Runs prime 95 mixed no errors and another stress test program... point is no errors on video card memory cpu etc.
When building it I accidentally sent video card level power through the USB card on my pcie. How not important. The card shows error but functions in device manager. Now that I think about it I replaced the card and it still shows error... port damage... hmmm
Can a computer function perfectly and still have damage that will cause defender to behave this way? Why is it failing bios updateing?
Oh the reason I posted here is because my windows 10 is not authorized as I am worried I will have to change my board and don't want to waste my money. Do they slow down windows 10 non authorized if they have been unauthorized for two months?

I would be tempted to use another AV like https://www.bitdefender.com.au/solutions/free.html

BIOS - what motherboard do you have?

unactivated - No, we have a mod who has run a spare machine unactivated for 2 years now, just to see if there are any restrictions. So far, there are are only minor restrictions and reminders like the notice on desktop, a warning in settings and not being able to set a desktop wallpaper.

Thanks for that Kontakt link and now I know about windows unactivated... It is a gig 350 gaming 3 they sell for ryzen. Like in most things in life its not worth wondering and bought a new motherboard and usb card so I can use this and never wonder about problems. Thanks again!
