Connected to internet but.. not?

So this has been going on for a long time.. (1 1/2 months) ive been disconnecting from the internet every 30 minutes exactly but it says im still connected. the reason i know im disconnected is because skype has the reconnecting logo on the icon on my task bar. Ive tried everything then after i tried everything i knew i reset my laptop back to factory settings. No change same thing happening. When it disconnects i have to unplug my cord and plug it back in then in a few seconds its fine and works again for another 10-30 minutes. This gets very annoying when trying to play a game where a match lasts 40+ minutes. ive tried switching my cord into another spot on the router but no change. if someone could help me fix this i would really appreciate it considering this is the only fun thing i can do while im not studying and now i cant do anything other than come home study sleep go back to school.

Also: ive diagnosed it and it said the DNS server is not responding. BUT my step brothers internet on his computer is working fine.

Try updating the firmware on the router, change the ethernet cord and also update the network card drivers in your computer if there are newer ones.
