I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 tablet. A few weeks ago the 32gb micro SD went bad. I thought it was a fluke but now I can't access the internet. Wifi is turned on and it displays that I'm connected to my home network but any app that needs access to the internet times out and won't connect. Logging into my router, I can see that the router recognizes the tablet. Likewise I can ping my tablet IP address from my laptop. I find it strange that it seems to have a physical connection to my router but no app is able to access the internet. Anyone run into this or have a suggestion? Was the micro SD card dying an early symptom that my tablet is dying? Thanks.

Does your laptop have access to the internet? My first suggestion would be to power down your router and modem for roughly 20 seconds then plug it back in.

If that doesn't work try forgetting the network on your tablet and reconnecting. Other than that I don't know any thing else that you can do to trouble shoot it, may need to look into getting a new device.

My trouble shooting routine for WiFi is:
Reboot the router and try again.
Make sure you are getting an IP from the routers DHCP service.

Delete the WiFi connection information on the mobile device.
Stand beside the router/access point.
Try again, entering the encryption phrase when prompted.

If that doesn't help.
Log into it with a cable connection.
Turn off the guest network or other non-essential features of the router.
Turn off encryption and try the WiFi again. If that works, reset encryption and re-enter the password on the device.

If it doesn't help, leave encryption off while trying other ideas.

Change the WiFi channel from "Auto" to a fixed channel. Try 1,6,&11 in any order.
Change the SSID

Try these and if any of them work, please report back on what helped. If none work, tell us what happened for each step. That will help us move forward and help you to learn about your equipment.
