So my PC unexpectedly shut down last night and when I jumped on this evening my wifi is no longer working as intended. I can connect to the network but just constantly have the "no internet, secured" status.
I've tried everything I can think of from flushing dns, resetting network adapter, completely Uninstalling and reinstalling the network adapter driver and nothing is working.
Nothing I can find online is helping me either.
Anyone have any wisdom they could share with me on this?

I just tried using my phone as a mobile Hotspot and my PC connected to the Hotspot just fine, but as soon as i connect to the wifi again I get no internet.
Hopefully that is useful to someone smarter than myself

restart windows (don´t just power off and on)

reset the BIOS

any 3rd party firewall or antivirus installed? uninstall and restart windows

Is the WiFi connection set to public or private? Private would be the proper option

Tried these all so far other than resetting bios so that can be the next test

other things to do:
check windows integrity
open the command prompt as administrator and type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

clean boot

check the memory by running memtest.org usb autoinstaller (bootable USB flash drive)

check the hard drives for errors with the manufacturer´s tools and if available, update the firmware

What that message means is the wifi radio itself has connected and stuff like the wifi encryption works but it does not actually pass any data.

Unfortunately this can be a lot of stuff....when it happens randomly with no software changes like windows updating the drivers it tends to be a hardware failure.

The first thing to check is can you talk to the router. I would first use IPCONFIG /all and see if you get IP address. Then try to ping the router IP and if that works try to put the IP of the router in a web browser and see if it will respond. Some routers will not let you into the config screens from a wifi connection unless you enable it.

If you get good connection to your router then it gets much more complex. Try to ping 8.8.8.8. If that works it means you actually have connection to the internet.

So I pinged the IP address and got 4 packets sent, 4 received. But when trying "ping 8.8.8.8" I get 4 destination net unreachables.
Annoying the hell out of me because I know the wifi is working cause it still works on everything else.
Putting the IP address in the browser doesn't connect either.

I would also try:
ipconfig /flushdns
and
ipconfig /renew

Does your router have an option to turn on Guest wifi and then try and connect to that?

So I logged in to the router and it shows my PC as connected yet still no internet. Managed to turn on the guest wifi and connect to that and bam it works so now I'm even more confused

The difference could be that your pc thinks this is a completely different location you are connecting to. Most times it is the firewall on the pc, I thought you tried to disable it though. Someone else had a very similar problem lately and they had a vpn that they uninstalled to fix it.

Yeah tried turning off firewall and everything and no go. Super annoying as it's been perfectly fine for years now it's a pain. At least with the guest wifi working I have internet until I can try and sort it out

In your router, try blocking your device and apply settings, then unblock (allow access) and apply again, see what happens and if still nothing then reboot router to make sure.

What network card do you have or is it built into the motherboard?

Try changing the MAC address of the network card, computer reboot maybe required.

Unexpectedly shut down? Like from a power failure???
If after resetting the router via power down/up doesn't resolve it, and the settings are correct, you likely have a bad router.
Any way you can test via ethernet from your pc?
