I bought a 4-pin fan (the 4-pin on a psu) from ebay and its loud and it vibrates. I had an old fan that were a lot better, but it had no connector, just stripped wires. I cut the wires for the fan i bought from ebay so the wires from the connector is long and the fan wires are short. I connected the red wire from the new(old) fan to the red wire from the connector and the same for black wire. I turned on my pc, then when i plugged in the fan it sparkled blue and smelt burt electronics. My screen went black, so i though i broke the psu, but a resetart fixed it. I double checked that red and black were the same as the ebay fan, and it was. Why the heck did this happen then?!?
