[SOLVED] connecting a soundbar to asus motherboard

I have a brand new Asus TUF Gaming X570 Plus wifi motherboard, and I would like to connect a Samsung soundbar such as the hw-t550 to my pc. Is this even possible? My motherboard doesn't have hdmi, but maybe there is another option.

Absolutely, and its a preferred method as well.
Your motherboard has an optical audio out port, and that soundbar (as most do) has an optical in, and comes with the required cable.

Excellent news! Thank you for the reply. Amazon currently has the Samsung hw-t550 for180, so that should be good for my pc needs.

How close will you be to your soundbar? They are typically spaced somewhat wide so it might not be the best option for PC speakers.
The Klipsch promedia 2.1 set is on sale at costco right now for a great price, as an alternate consideration.
