[SOLVED] Connecting Chromecast 3 to DVI projector

I got my hands on a good working Canon X700 projector which I would like to connect my Chromecast 3 to.

The projector unfortunately has no HDMI input, although it does have digital DVI [and some others][1]. The other ones are analog so I think DVI is my best option.

Now, could there possible be a way to connect the Chromecast to the projectors DVI input without losing audio. I did
find this adapter on Amazon:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/d/5fn/MHP-DVI-D-HDMI-Stereo-Audio-including-adapter/B00W1T3OU6

but don't now if it could be a Chinese scam adapter that won't work or not.

In addition: could the same adapter also work as an input to connect a PS4 to the projector?

For the sceptical guys: I do believe that this could be working as this beamer was released just before the 'HDMI-era' and still supports 1080i.

That adapter uses your devices audio jack to send audio to the Tv and the chromecast doesn't have an audio jack...

You'll need an HDMI to DVI adapter that strips the audio from the HDMI signal and allows you to send it thru a 3.5mm cable.
Or an HDMI to HDMI with audio extractor and then use the hdmi to dvi adapter after that (those are cheap).

this doesn't address the issue if the Chromecast will show video thru the projector or not.

What I was thinking is that the 3.5mm Jack extracts the audio from the HDMI output of the Chromecast, which I can then connect to an external speaker, while the video can ben connected to the DVI input of the projector?

In this case it could be working right? Also, what would ben the difference between An active and passive adapter?
