Connecting computer to TV wirelessly

Solution
Unfortunately smart TVs are only smart to make a direct wireless (or wired) to Internet connection to play Hulu/Netflix and the like.

What you need to do to make that happen is a wireless display adapter, which is not within the ability of smart TVs on their own. You can also just attach a PC with a long HDMI cable (25 ft HDMI 1.4 cables were on sale for $10 a few days ago at Meritline) to make such a display easily.
What is your goal in the wireless connection, just to stream movies to the TV from the PC or are you trying to give Internet access to the TV so you can use Hulu and Netflix with the smart apps of the TV?

Do you already have a wireless router that you use for your laptop?

My only goal is to stream powerpoints onto the tv. I have a router if we need one. I have no need for the internet.
