Connecting DVD SATA powered to 2nd SATA connector on SATA Hard Drive cable.

Hello,
A new power supply has one IDE drive cable (3 connectors) and one cable with 3 SATA connectors. I have a SATA DVD and SATA hard that were connected to a burned- out power supply that had IDE and SATA on a common cables. Therefore, My DVD and Hard Drives had separate cables. Can I connect both drives to the same and only cable with multiple SATA connectors?

No problem. If a psu has a number of sata connectors on one cable, it is designed to power them all.
