Connecting Ethernet in Pre-Wired flat

The flat I have moved into appears to have pre-wired Ethernet. I could do with some help in connecting it all up. I thought it would be as simple as plugging an Ethernet cable from the router into the wall and then that would spread the internet throughout the house but that didn't work and looking through the forum it doesn't seem to be that simple.

The current situation is

The router is in the living room, the connection from the wall looks like this

There is also a box in the laundry room with cables labelled Lounge, Bed 1 and Bed 2

One of the cables is labelled "In", this is connected to the Lounge cable

What is the best way to connect these cables up so that the Ethernet reaches the bedroom.

I'm guessing that those 3 Ethernet ports in the laundry room feed 3 individual jacks in the apartment. If so, you'll need to find which port feeds each room. With the Ethernet cable plugged in at the router, you could take a laptop to the laundry room and plug into each of the jacks to discover which port is active. You may need to open up the wall jack to be sure that it is wired properly.

If you just need to supply one room with Ethernet, you can run a cable from the active port to the port feeding the required room. If you want to activate the other 2 jacks, you'll need a network switch in the laundry room and connect all 3 jacks to it.

This is all assuming that these jacks are wired properly for Ethernet of course.
