I just got a HP Victus laptop and this is what the specs say about the type c port- "1 USB Type-C ® 5Gbps signaling rate (Display port ™ 1.4, HP Sleep & charge)".

My question is, can I get a type c usb hub with hdmi-out to connect an external monitor? Or do I have to get a type c to display port adaptor. The laptop has 1 hdmi port but I'm planning on attaching 2 external display. One of the monitors I have has both dp and hdmi, and another just hdmi. I want to get the hub with hdmi cause it's cheaper and I get extra usb ports. Will it work?

If you're connecting an external monitor to use as a primary one and it's something made for gaming, then the easiest answer to this is get a USB-C to DisplayPort adapter. Using anything else may or may not allow you to use either the full capabilities of the display interface or it won't be using your laptop's GPU (instead using something called Display Link)

If you want another monitor just to have something to throw say YouTube videos on or a web page for reference, then go for whatever
