I just purchased a masterkiquid pro 240 and I’m having a hard time figuring out how to connect the pump cable directly to the psu. Because of the 4-pin connection on the pump, I can’t find any simple solution to do so, it appears that almost every molex adapter will have only 3 pin fan connections.

I did my research on which is the best way to connect a liquid pump, and I find out that using a pwm mobo connection can be dangerous because of the varying speeds, and the best way to do so is using a 3 pin connection directly to the psu so the pump can be working at 100% all time. Therefore, why this pump is design with a 4-pin connection, that’s very confusing.

I'm using a ASUS Z170M-PLUS Motherboard, Micro ATX

I sincerely ask for some guidelines.
Thank you!

You can plug the 4-pin connection on the pump to the 3-pin-to-Molex or 4-pin-to-Molex adapter, directly to the PSU. It will always run at 12V and 100% speed at all times. It is similar to plugging a 4-pin PWM fan cable to a 3-pin fan header of a motherboard with no PWM functions - it will only run in 12V DC.

Then, plug the 4-pin PWM of your 2x radiator fans in the available 4-pin PWM headers of your motherboard (the CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT).
