Question Connecting Monitor - Best connection

I have an Acer Nitro xv272u Monitor.
It has one display port and a few HDMI

I also have an TUF gaming x570 plus wifi mobo.

What is the best connection between the two of these. I feel like i've read that hdmi was limited in some way, but i didn't get a display port cable in the box.

I would just use Display Port. It should be guarenteed to work with FreeSync that your monitor has.

Yes. Both your monitor and GPU have full size display port connections so you would want a display port 1.4 cable.
