Connecting my Laptop to my Desktop VIA Vga Cable.

Hey! Im trying to connect my Laptop to my Desktop using a VGA cable.. But it wont work, my Desktop monitor wont be detected, so on my Desktop the option to have two displays wont show up, but on the Laptop it will but it wont detect my Desktop computer...

Please help...

Your graphics ports don't work like that.

The laptop port is OUTPUT only. It does not accept the signal from the desktop.
Similarly, the desktop port is OUTPUT only.

Right.
You can't use the laptop screen as a second screen for the desktop.
You can connect the VGA out from the laptop to your monitor, and have dual screen from the laptop...laptop screen + monitor.

But you can't have dual screen from the desktop, unless you buy another monitor.
