I am going to build a new PC, with an MSI Intel LGA1151 Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon DDR4 ATX Motherboard. It has an Ethernet port on it, but I have nothing in the room to plug it into (the router is downstairs, beside the telephone line socket). Note that the motherboard itself does not come with WiFi.

I already have a TP-Link AC1200 T4UH wireless USB adapter, will this be a good way of connecting my PC to my hub, or is there a better solution?

USB adapters are not the best option, but since you already have it, you can surely try it - chance is, it will fulfill your needs.
