I just recently thought of connecting my PS4( original 500 GB) to my monitor so that I could game in my own personal space ( still live with my parents). I researched a bit and found out that my monitor

only had a DVI-D ( along with VGA but I was told DVI was better) slot and so to connect it to my PS4 I needed a convertor. I bought one but the tech guy was kinda vague,I asked him for a DVI-D convertor to HDMI but he said there's no such thing and gave me a DVI-M instead. I figured what the heck( both have 24 pins +1 and it fits perfectly) and set up everything, got ready to game but when I switch on the monitor it says " NO SIGNAL-PLEASE CHECK YOUR CONNECTION" even though I thought I did everything right. What's happening?
