* How can I connect my Tablet (Nextbook NXW8QC16G) with Win 8.1 Operating System to the Internet by using the Comcast Cable connection for my Older Desktop PC with Win XP Service Pack 3 Operating System. I have no Wireless routers or modems. Nothing in my home is wireless. My PC is connected to a cable modem via Ethernet cable. The Tablet is new & is just like it came out of the box

I live on a very small fixed income due to disabilities so a simple inexpensive solution would be my preferred solution.

If I just buy an inexpensive USB 2.0 WiFi Adapter & plug it into the USB Port on the Desktop PC would this work? Would this allow the tablet access to the Internet through my Desktop PC?

Any Suggestions or solutions appreciated

Sincerely

te100 I am so grateful for your response and suggested solution. I know very little about computer related technology. I have absolutely no schooling or training in computers. Everything that I have learned I have learned solo in books and online. When you suggest a "wireless router" I even had to research this and how it is used. After a lot of research I finally purchased a TP-LINK TL-WR841N Wireless Router at
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FWYGJS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for multiple reasons. It is the #1 selling router at Amazon.com. It has 3,266 Customer Reviews with 2,314 of those giving it a 5 rating out of a possible 5 being the highest. Some of the reviews were from customers of Comcast that were using this router.

I had no idea where to go for a solution and I think that you put me on the right course. THANK YOU very much
