I currently have a pc and sky box connected to the TV in my lounge by hdmi via the 3in1 auto selection box (link 1).

I want to connect both to a TV in another room and be able to access both independently i.e. If sky is on in the front room then I want to be able to use the pc in the other room and vice versa.

My plan is to put a 2 way splitter (link 2.) on both the pc and the sky box. One lead from each will then go to the 3in1 auto selector and in to the TV.
The other will go into an auto selector and then into a hdmi/cat5 extender box (link 3)

I can't see why this set up wouldn't work, but what I want to know is if there is an easier way since my plan has a lot of separate components which makes me feel there must be a simpler method! I can't be the first person who's wanted to do this!
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

EDIT: just realised that if I set sky to play on the other tv I wouldn't be able to change channel wince the box will be in the front room :/
