Connecting PC speakers to my tv

So i have a pair of speakers from Creative that I want to connect to my tv for better sound, however once I connected them to the tv using this adapter:

I still only get sound trough my television's built in speaker, I don't see anything in the menu settings about changing audio source, please tell me it is even possible to do!

Does your TV have a headphone jack? If so, plug your speakers into that and sound should be provided to your speakers.

No my tv does not have an headphone jack, that's why I bought the adapter thinking it would be the same thing. Since there is nothing in the tv menu settings about changing audio source. is there even any way to do this? Would really appreciate if someone could answer me

Sorry i forgot to mention it.. It's a THOMSON model 32HS2244

It should have a headphone connection on the side. See here (page 5 has info):

I do have an audio jack in the back. I don't know if that's the correct one or not, I tried it though but same thing there no sound from my external speakers. Here's a picture of the back of my TV: http://i.imgur.com/QAQx8rB.jpg

No, there's no headphone jack there. Only for HDMI and TV buttons unfurtunately :/

Those audio ports (red/white) in the picture are input ports, not output. I am still looking, but it isn't hopeful at this time.

On the side panel there's an USB port aswell, would that be a long shot or would an adapter, something like this: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/71X2w2pzsIL._SY355_.jpg work?

That USB is likely input only as well. I am really surprised to find no other outputs on this TV.

I've been looking around for a while and can't find any jacks, not even under the TV. I bought this thing maybe 5 years ago for 300$ so it's not the best piece of tech but I agree with you that there should be atleast an headphone jack if there's hdmi and usb ports. Heck even my 15 year old thick tv had a headphone jack

On your picture it shows an SPDIF output, so something like the FiiO D3 should work...maybe. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the specific manual for your TV and can't be certain exactly what that jack will do.

The link is to the US Amazon, but you should be able to find it in the EU, or something like it. You're looking for an SPDIF(coaxial) to 3.5mm and/or RCA adapter. It should look something like the above and will be powered.

If you have a stereo/AVR (or know someone?) which can take coax SPDIF I'd test that output first.

Also, this particular unit only accepts PCM/LPCM, if the TV outputs Dolby or DTS you'll have to get a unit that supports that otherwise you'll just get static, if it plays at all.

This is probably your best option, but again without the manual I'm not certain.

On all of the specs when I google the model it says there is a headphone jack, what the hell. Why is my piece of stuff lacking the jack?

The SPDIF adapter you are talking about, do you think it still would work? doesn't mention anything about it in this manual though

edit: It says SPDIF out, so I guess it means output so in theory it should work?
