Connecting pc to 42 inch lcd

So I connected my pc to my 42 inch lcd insignia tv. First time I get in just fine. Then I was playing around with resolution and pc rebooted on me because of some updates to wondows. Now when it boots up I see the dos messages, then windows screen coming up then right after that when coming to home screen it says "no device" ior something. I see some flash right before it goes away a display of 1068x720 I believe on the tv. So I shut pc down, hook up old monitor and try a different resolution and shut down, reconnect to 42 lcd. Nothing. Tried every single settings now. Its crazy because when I first booted up it was just fine. Ideas on what I could check?

Can you list your specs? How are you connecting to the TV? Are your graphics drivers up to date?
