Hi guys I have a PC and a Sony Hi-Fi MHC-RV8 with 7000w PMPO or 1000+w RMS it's a 4.1 sound system it's an old one but has awesome sound quality I have been using a 3.5mm to RCA Red n White cable and had connected it with my PC is this the right way or is there any other way to get the best output please suggest.

Solution
the onboard audio should be a 5.1 channel output, unless it is 10+ years old the motherboard should be equipped with surround 5.1, 7.1 or better.
the speakers are 4.1, rear left and right, front left and right and a subwoofer.
you can output to the rear speakers and the front speakers and have all 5 speakers active if the speakers will allow separate front and rear inputs.

the onboard will remap the audio out port, blue, and the microphone port (pink) to be the other channels.

what model is your motherboard? if I know the model I can lookup the procedure and walk you through

I have a Biostar H81MHV3 VER 7.2 motherboard and a i5-4590 Could you please guide me on how to get 4.1 output. Windows recognises only 2.0 as I use a 3.5mm to RCA Red n White cable. Is there any possible way to get 4.1 channel output from my PC and input it to my Sony Hi-Fi MHC-RV8 as 4.1 input
