I am seeking advice on the proper connection from my power supply unit (PSU) to a motherboard (Mobo).

I recently purchased the Prime X570-Pro Mobo. I also bought the Corsair Rm750 power supply since that was listed as a compatible Psu for the Mobo.

To connect the system I attached the 24 pin EATXPWR and the Corsair 8 pin EATX12V (CPU 4+4) to the Mobo. There was a remaining 4 pin EATX12V pin on the Mobo and an 8 pin EATX12V (CPU 4+4) on the PSU.

I am assuming that the (CPU 4+4) modular plug has two 4 pin connectors molded into one connector. Also that connector does fit into the Mobo, with the additional pins unattached and hanging over the edge of the Mobo 4 pin slot. Knowing that assumptions can be a road to trouble, I wanted to seek guidance on this issue. Should one half of the Corsair 8 pin EATX12V (CPU 4+4) be connected to the remaining Mobo 4 pin slot.
