I have an EVGA 850w power supply, a bit confused on how I would connect this to my graphics card.

The PSU came with 4 cables that connect the PSU to the graphics card. EACH cable has a 6 pin and an 8 pin connector. The graphics card needs one 6 pin connection and one 8 pin.

Now Ive been given 2 options.

1) Only use ONE cable as each cable has both a 8 pin and a 6 pin to connection, as it will fit both the relevant 6 pin and 8 pin on the graphics card.

2) Use TWO cables. And connect one cable to the 6 pin and one cable to the 8 pin. (Even though the cables have both a 6 pin and 8 pin connection.

I am confused as to which one to do?

it is probably 1 cable per 12v rail to ensure that the power is properly spread through the system with multiple graphics cards in place. personally id go with 1 on each cable as long as you dont mind the mess of wires just to ensure that the card gets enough power.
