Hey there,

First of all - sorry for my english (not my native) and I really have small knowledge of computery memory.

So, long story short i have some left over ram I would like to set and use properly.

Ram I'm already using - KHX16C10B1B/8
Specs link - Kingston HyperX

Spare ram - HX318C9SR/8
Specs link - Kingston savage

Both 8gb (different mhz, cl and timing)

What I'v already done: Placed both sticks in the same colour sockets, turned on XMP. Hwinfo64 shows that my system has 16gb ram but they are running at 668 mhz ( so if i understand corretly its 1333) and CL 9-9-9-24 timing (have no idea what it is)

So, The question is What I should do ( if i done something wrong) and how should I set up my rams properly. Thank you!

My PC spec.:
MOBO - Z87-G41
CPU - I5 4670K
GPU - MSI GTX 960 G4
PSU - Be Quiet Pure power L8 - 500W
HDD - WDEZEX - 1TB

Solution
There is nothing else you can do. If the system is stable everything is ok.

The black ram runs at 668(1333) and the red at 800 (1600). If you want both sticks, the red ram would underclock in order to match the black one. Just like they are now.

There is little to none difference between 1333 and 1600.

If system is stable leave it as is.

Thank you for you answer, it seems stable so far. Any idea if i should stick to single 8 gb 1833 ram module or use like it is now ?

PC Mostly used for daily basis, casual gaming( GTA v/ Black Desert online). Rarely for editing videos/photos ( Vegas, photoshop). Is there any noticable performance difference?

For this kind of stuff 8 gigs are totally fine. If your editing needs are limited there is no real reason having 16 gigs. So you could keep the second stick as a back up or even sell it. Personally i'd keep it as a backup or reuse it in a different system.
