Hi all,
I am planning to buy a Sapphire R9 280x Vapor-X GPU along with a SeaSonic M12II 620 PSU. The issue is that the GPU needs 2 x 8 pin connectors, whereas, the PSU only has 1 x 6 pin and 1 x 6+2 pin connector.
Now, I understand that using adapters (i.e. 6 pin to 8 pin) are a no-no as the PSU may be of cheap quality, my question is that will this work for a well made and reviewed SeaSonic M12II 620 PSU? SeaSonics are supposed to be really good.
If the above does not work, then unfortunately i'll be limited with the following options since I'm located in Dubai.
- Corsair GS-600 (2013)
- Corsair CX-600M v3
Can you also please advise if the above GS is considerably better than the modular CX-600 (v3)?
My specs are:
i7 4770K
Asrock Z87 Extreme4
8 GM Ram
Sapphire R9 280x Vapor-X
500 GB HDD (SDD and another HDD will be a future upgrade)
P.S. I will only be doing mild overclocking, not something extreme.
Appreciate your help.
