Connecting Sapphire r9 390x fans to fan controller or motherboard?

Hey guys

So recently I had a problem with my graphics card. It suddenly went over 80 degrees celsius while
I was doing nothing on my computer. Then I realized that my fans are not spinning. When I opened it up I saw that the 4 pin power socket for the fans is burnt. Now my question is...

Can I connect my fans to a fan controller or motherboard instead of using the power socket on the graphics card itself?

(I don't have warranty anymore)

There's no reason why you can't run the fans from the motherboard, the main issue is going to be controlling the fan speed to match the temperature of the GPU. Probably the fans will end up running faster than normal when the card is at idle so that they are fast enough when under load, you're relying on the system temperature to increase to tell the fans to speed up.

As for the cable you linked to, yes it should be able to connect the fans. Just double check that it looks like the right plug for your fans, it does say mini GPU fan, so it should be right.
