Hello guys,

My network setup is as following:
I have a router in my living room. My desktop is connected to it. The wifi signal gets weak when I try to browse on my phone in my room. So I decided to get an old used modem and connect the modem to the router via RJ45. My new modem is then a wifi extender/repeater. Wifi works perfectly.

The problem I have is that I want to connect my second desktop to my network using RJ45 in my room. Meaning I want to connect my desktop 2 to my repeater using RJ45. Which somehow doesn't work. No internet. Does anybody have any solutions?

1. my modem is Huawei Echolife HG520i
2. myrouter: TP Link WR340GD
3. I used this guidehttp://

Schema:
Desktop 1 =x=(((Repeater)))==========================(((Router)))====Desktop 2

DHCP is off on repeater.

Apparently connecting directly via Ethernet to the main router doesn't work either. It seems like my desktop refuses the IP the router gives it. Any suggestions?

Do an IP address refresh

Open a command (dos) prompt
type 'ipconfig /release', press enter
then type 'ipconfig /renew', press enter

it can also help to give your repeater a static IP address. Just choose one at the end of the range available on the main modem.
