Connecting to the internet slows down my PC

Whenever I connect the internet either wireless or with a Ethernet cable, games will stutter and lag and I have to restart my PC to fix it. I have tried many things and tried to live with it but it's getting really annoying. Any help at all is really appreciated, thanks!

I don't see any way how the internet would affect your performance besides the chance of malware sending all your info to some guy in Nigeria

I have checked for malware but nothing... I downloaded msi afterburner and it seems everything including my gpu usage and CPU usage is at its max but my performance is still shitty

Just to clarify, by performance you do mean frames per second right? If you are having lag issues then it most likely has to do something with your internet connection itself.

fps, stuttering and its not on any online games... it happens on cod4 and Skyrim
