connecting wires to the board

Hey guys,

ok I need to find the ground wire on the case wires from the power led, hdd led, hdd redet, etc. Have done a hunt for info on it but can't find anything. What I did find out that getting them flipped is bad though, so I want to do it correct. On the connectors themselves, an 'S' is marked on one of the connectors. The color of the wires is not helping either (I'm used to black or white for ground, but on some of them it doesnt match up to the 'S' mark) so am confused. Tracing the wires back to the source shows me no markings either. Help. Does the 'S' stand for 'source' or something meaning its the positive?

Nothing bad will happen if you reverse the front panel LED's, they work one way and not the other, you flip them if they don't work, no harm done.

Generally you will find that there is something like all white wires matched with colored wires. The colored wires are the positive, while the color that is common to all, is the negative.

As crashman said, you can't really plug them in wrong, nothing bad will happen.

thanks. then I'll stop worrying so much
think I may have worked it out though. The one connector that was reversed (that was reverse from everything else, color and the small 's') was the case intrusion switch. Thnking about it now, though I could be wrong, for the case intrusion switch to work, breaking the ground trips it hence why its reversed. I hope.
