Hi, I'm planning to hide my network in order to protect my WiFi from my neighbors which hacked my WiFi every time I changed it. I tested a hidden network on 2nd SSID first to copy the settings from the default SSID, after I finished, I try to connect to the hidden network of my router I've put the right SSID and password but it takes time to connect and says the connection is limited. Any help ?

I've tried many times I always get limited connection

Limited connection normally means it has a connection to the wireless but you are not getting ip addresses. Hard to say why it is doing that.

Running hidden tends to cause other issues. Some of the feature in 802.11 are not supported when you run hidden ssid. I think things like mimo but it is very inconsistent which equipment enforces the rules.

If you use WPA2 with a good password it should be impossible for your neighbors to hack. All you need to do is have a couple special symbols and it takes millions of years to crack even with a super computer. The one exception to this is if you have WPS turned on....and it is turned on by default on many routers. This has a massive security exposure and once someone cracks the WPS number (about 10 hours) they can get you most secure WPA2 key no matter how many times you change it. Even worse it is impossible to change the WPS key. So the only really valid option is to disable the WPS.

If your neighbor knows enough about this to hack a WPA2 WiFi network, you'd better prepare for them getting in again. All real network tools can see right through a "hidden" SSID, it's not an effective security measure. The only tools that won't detect it are ones designed to "best practices".

If you're not using WPA2-AES encryption, with a long totally-random key (at least 20 characters), switch to using that. That's the most effective security you can have.
