i'm having a issue with my pc, every 1-5 mins the connection drops out for anywhere from 5-30 seconds.

From what i can tell this is only happening on the one device on the network the device uses a Killer E2200 gigabit Ethernet controller and i have already tried reinstalling the network adapter drivers as well as restarting the router.

i am also using the Z170X-gaming 3 motherboard LGA 1151

Try to disable all the so called gaming accelerator features, uninstall the program if possible. The driver still contains these accelerator features though so you can try to download the version of the driver that does not have it. You will find it on the killer site just look for the one that says it does not contain these features.

There are massive number of posts on various forums on the killer chipsets. They work well if you can get a stable driver but it seems that is not easy to do so many people just disable the so called gaming features.
